Clorox Healthcare® Bleach Germicidal Cleaners are premixed, ready to use and similar to the 1:10 bleach solution strength that is recommended by CDC guidelines for effective disinfecting. Clorox Healthcare® Bleach Germicidal Cleaners contain an anticorrosive ingredient that makes them less damaging to surfaces or equipment than conventionally prepared bleach solutions.
Versatile, Ready-to-Use Cleaner Disinfectant
Compared to the CDC-recommendation of a 1:10 bleach solution for controlling infection-causing pathogens, Clorox Healthcare® products are more convenient to use and remain stable for up to 18 months after original manufacture date.
The detergent and anticorrosive ingredients of Clorox Healthcare® disinfecting products make them excellent cleaners for use on different hard, nonporous surfaces such as stainless steel, glazed ceramic tile, hard plastics, nonporous vinyl, painted surfaces, Plexiglas®, laminated plastic countertops, fiberglass (sealed) surfaces, glazed porcelain and glass. For best results, apply the cleaning solution directly to the surface until it is completely wet for the contact time indicated on the label.
Clorox Healthcare® disinfecting products may also be used for disinfecting pre-cleaned, noncritical instruments.
Meets Bloodborne Pathogen Standards
OSHA has approved the use of bleach solutions as an effective means of protecting healthcare workers from the risk of contamination by bloodborne pathogens.
Gross contamination (visible soil) must be cleaned up first with soap and water, then followed by use of the bleach solution for disinfecting.
OSHA requires that conventionally prepared bleach solutions be made up daily (every 24 hours) and left on the surface until the bleach has air-dried. Gross contamination (visible soil) must be cleaned up first with soap and water, followed by use of the bleach solution for disinfecting.
